You guys!! I’ve been so pumped by the amount of excitement around Gelmoment! It’s so cool. Many of you already buy and love the products, many more of you have heard of it but haven’t purchased or used it (yet!), and a few of you have never heard of it (I hadn’t until recently)
I thought I would just share a little more information and answer a couple of the questions I’ve been getting!
Okay, so just a summary of why I love the polish itself:

> SAFE (will not ruin your nails like traditional gel polish does)
> VEGAN friendly (this is HUGE for me!)
> 5+ FREE (as well as Eco-friendly, non-toxic, solvent-free, lead-free, latex-free, cruelty-free)
> TONS of colours to choose from
> LASTS up to 14 days
(my 1st mani I did I left for 10 days, it still looked great, I was just eager to change it up!)
I used to use a shellac kit with a UV light. It was one of the ones where you needed to do base coat – cure it, polish (1-3 coats) – cure it, top coat – cure it! Then you’d need to use alcohol wipes/rubbing alcohol to remove all the stickiness from it. I also found it would often peel right off after a couple days. And… it would always ruin my nails.
So I haven’t had any gel/shellac on my nails in a really long time.
When a good friend of mine started sharing about Gelmomemt, I was intrigued. She’s a fellow Beautycounter gal, and we were both trainers at White Oaks (a local gym), and I know how picky she is with her products – so I completely trusted her opinion on Gelmoment, tried it, LOVED it, and here we are !
One of the questions I’ve gotten a few times already (actually the main question) is ‘Is it really that easy to use, and mainly, take off’?
YES! It truly is. I had that same doubt too. There are a couple different options for removal:
REMOVAL WIPES – act as a little packet where you can put your fingers right in there and let them ”soak” for approx 10 mins. These wipes have 33% less acetone than regular remover! (WINNING!)

FLAKE OFF – paint on a thick coat, just like you would put on polish. Let sit for 3-5 mins. May need to repeat if you have multiple coats on. ACETONE FREE!

I’ve used both of these, and I can’t say which I prefer just yet. I do like the acetone free aspect of the Flake off, and also that I can move my fingers more freely while I wait… though I feel like I might go through it a little more quickly!
In terms of just general use, it is pretty awesome that you don’t need a top or base coat with this stuff. I am not sure I can endorse the ‘only 1 coat’ because I’ve used 2-3 coats so far… but that could just be because of my colour choice and my preference for how dark I want it. And even when I would use the old UV lamp, I was doing base, then 2-3 coats of colour, then top coat. Thats a LOT of curing!
Next Q!
Kid friendly!?! HELL YAAAA!!! Totally safe, and you don’t have to wait for it to dry (just 45 secs to cure!). I’m not sure I’m ambitious enough to try with Raeleigh yet as she’s only 2, and I think she’s still a bit young. But I would definitely give it a go with my 6 year old niece!
Another thing I just wanted to share that I found interesting would be a comparison on the $$ you can save by doing your own nails at home (and right now, in our current situation, the salon isn’t really an option much longer)

Lastly, I think I’m just so excited about all the possibilities!!! haha I have always enjoyed doing my nails and getting creative. There are SO many beautiful possibilities.

I’ve got a VIP Clean Beauty Group on FB that I’d LOVE for you to check out if you haven’t already. I’m sharing lots about Gelmoment right now because it’s brand new to me, but I will be sharing about about Beautycounter there, too! Promos, new products, tips and tricks, annnnnnddddd giveaways!
Thanks so much for reading! If you’re already a Gelmoment lover, PLEASE let me know what your faves are! Colours, stamps, chromes etc! I am eager to learn! haha
