Bring it on, 2020!!!

Here we are, the SECOND WEEK of February already (it was the second week of January when I started this post, but my pics wouldn’t upload – luckily my web designers are amazing and corrected everything for me!) ANYWAY – I’ve been back to work for about a month and a half now (With some holiday time sprinkled in, which was the perfect transition back!)

Side note: My bro took some amazing pics for us a few weeks ago so they’ll just be sprinkled about through the post! Thanks again, Kurty!

Are you kidding me with those eyes, Little girl

Everyone is asking ‘how are you feeling about being back? How’s it going? How is Raeleigh doing?’ And honestly, I feel like it’s going really great! We are so blessed to have family helping with Rae on the days I’m working, and I’m lucky enough to be working 4 days/week instead of 5. So it’s making things a little easier going from being with my little gal all day every day to back to the real world ๐Ÿ™‚ I also am finding it emotionally less challenging than I thought, but harder logistically! We were in a great cushy routine on mat leave – never really had to be anywhere in a hurry… took our time getting going in the morning, had a double breakfast if we wanted with no worries we’d be late for something! haha This having to get out of the house at a certain time has really thrown a kink into our feasting all morning – Luckily my job is fairly flexible, and Greg usually has a bit of wiggle room on when he needs to be into work also.

With the routine of being back at work, I’m trying to implement some other routines in our day to day/week to week also. Ever heard the saying ‘you want something done, ask the busiest person you know’? It’s SO TRUE!!! I find the less ‘free time’ I have, the more I cram into it! But I need to plan in order to make sh*t happen! SO. Here are a few of the things I’m working on right now:

I really am trying to go paperless. I put everything in my phone, I make lists in notes and in grocery apps etc. But there are some things that are just better on paper. For my work (day job) appointments, everything is in google calendar and that seems to work great! But for my workouts, Beautycounter planning (posts, goals etc), blog posts and just general goals … I like to see it on paper, written out in front of me. Something about it is more permanent if it’s written on paper vs in a phone where a little ‘shake’ could erase it. Maybe I’m crazy! haha

This is the Rachel Hollis ‘Hiustle’ workbook that one of my mentors sent me for Christmas! Fits right in with my goal prepping and motivation (Thanks, Hayley! xo)

Passion planner to the rescue!! So this is really crucial for my Beautycounter business. It’s really easy to put things off and ‘do them later’ because it’s a lot of little things that just take a second. Follow up with a client to see how she likes her new stuff, send a thank you message to someone that referred a friend, get a care package ready to send out to someone in need of a little extra love! But if it’s on paper, written in front of me, I feel worse about putting it off, and WAY better getting to put a check mark beside it and move on to the next! Anyone else like this?

Roadmap all laid out for you!

Inside of the passion planner – layout is great and there is a spot for everything ๐Ÿ™‚

haha anyway, okay that is for my Beautycounter stuff… Passion planner to get things in order. I’m hoping it will help because I did take a bit of a hiatus over the holidays and was a little slow in January trying to get into a good groove.

The other thing I started in January is a new Beachbody program. If you’ve been following me for a bit, you know I’m a fan of the Beachbody on Demand program. Hundreds of workouts, $100 for the year, access them anywhere. It’s an AMAZING deal, even if I only do a few workouts a month from it… totally worth it! I like following diff programs and I like utilizing lots of diff equipment.. especially as we build our home gym. But I was feeling a bit in a rut and I wanted something that was really going to push me. So I purchased the early VIP access to the program ‘The Work’ on beachbody, and I am LOVING it so far (I’m 4 weeks in… 2 more to go) Everything feels better to me when I am on a regular workout schedule. For a while, I was doing my workouts 5-6 days a week, but it was super random just trying to find/make up something to do each day but no real method to the madness. I’m finding I feel a lot better and I see better results if I’m on SOME sort of a plan for workouts.

Lastly – food prep! This is even more important now because of little Raeleigh. It’s tricky too though, because although she’s a pretty good little eater (even though she’s only got a few teeth), she’s really random. Today at lunch, LOVES Peanut butter stew… tomorrow at dinner, get that $h*t away from me, mama! So it makes it hard to ‘prep’ anything ahead of time because even though she seems to like it, she might only like it for one meal! I have a few lunches a week out with clients, so I don’t need to prep AS much for me… but it’s even handy to have things prepped ahead of time so when we get home for dinner I don’t have to start from scratch making something. So I have been trying to make a couple things for the week on Sunday (or Monday, which is my day off since I’m working only 4 days a week). We’ve got a decent little freezer stock of soups/stews right now, and I’m working on the little one to eat more roasted veg and things that she can feed herself.

ANYWAY … that’s what we’ve been up to over here the last couple weeks, and I’ve gotta say, I’m feeling pretty awesome about 2020! It’s gonna be a killer year. We’re reminded daily how blessed we are with our little one, but also with an amazing thriving business in the brewery, a pretty kick butt side hustle for me, an amazing new day job for me, our health, finally a new home that is OURS, our 4 wonderful rescue animals, and an amazing support system! Really, on days where I’m complaining… I need to just, not. We’re so lucky!!

Look at these two… I’m actually the luckiest, ever

And now that my ongoing photo issues have been corrected, (WOOOO!) I will be able to post again more frequently. So stay tuned!

Thanks for reading ! Have a wonderful rest of the week ๐Ÿ™‚
