Hello there … and HAPPY FRIDAY!
Thanks for stopping by ๐
As you may or may not know… my blogging has totally suffered in the last month and a half or so (and I’m sad about it!). I’ve been really busy working on my Mutt Malas page. If you aren’t familiar, please go check it out!! It’s pretty cool if I do say so myself.
The quick and dirty version is – I make bracelets and necklaces and donate 100% of the proceeds to Tierra de Animales in Cancun, Mexico… where our little Pedro is from. 100% of the proceeds translates to $10 per bracelet and $20 per necklace. I charge enough to cover my materials and I donate the rest ๐
ANYWAY…
I’ve got a fun little Friday Faves post for you guys today. (This is 2 in in a row…. Hoping to get back on a regular Faves sched now!)
Let’s get to it. First… I want to share a new blog I just found a couple weeks ago and I love love LOVE it!
It’s called Running on real food, and can be found here. This chick is the real deal.
I like her for a few reasons:
1) She’s in Vancouver (local love y’all)
2) She’s super active and has great insights on workouts
3) She’s got AMAZING recipes
4) She’s vegan (and a lot of her recipes are gluten free too!)
The post that caught my eye and originally brought me to her blog is this one:

Vegan IIFYM, flexible dieting!
I’ve been looking into flexible dieting more and more, and I’ve also been thinking about transitioning to a mostly vegan diet. I’m pretty much 75-80% there already, since I can’t have any eggs/dairy (allergy), and I don’t eat meat – only fish. So I have been eating pretty much vegan + fish for the last year…. I’m interested in testing out the waters a little more and Deryn’s page has been SUPER helpful.
One of the things I thought that would be most difficult in macros eating if you’re not having any animal products was keeping the carbs down. But she breaks it down pretty well and has several posts on vegan flexible dieting and how it’s changed her life!
THANK YOU, Deryn, for having an amazing blog. I am absolutely loving following your journey.
Moving on. I received a surprise BAG in the mail today. OMG I love getting packages, but ESPECIALLY when they’re unexpected.
An instagram account I’ve been following for awhile, LoriChacha. She makes amazing repurposed bags. I would highly recommend checking out her site here.
Last week I noticed a post on her instagram saying she was doing a giveaway.
Not sure if this is legible for everyone, but she basically said for anyone who comments on the post, and says something nice they did for someone else recently, they would be entered to win a free bag. She sent out 5!!! How amazing is that!?
Anyway, thank you, Lori, for your amazing work and for being such a kind hearted soul!
Lastly, I want to share a new fave tea with you guys. OMG it’s soooo delicious.
This is a Rhubarb Oolong from Wonderland Tea and Spice in Bellingham.
I stumbled across this little place on a weekend in Bellingham with the hubs. One of many weekends there. We enjoy it! Anyway… I went in to just check out what they had, and was kind of overwhelmed as it’s not the most organized place upon first glance. It’s really random. They have TONS of stuff. Teas, herbs, spices, essential oils, natural healing options. It’s a really cool place. They’ve got some really interesting tea options, but I think my face has to be the Rhubarb Oolong.
Oolongs are great after dinner for help with digestion, and they’re also known to help speed up metabolism, so it’s good to start your day with an oolong as well.
Well, that’s it for this week you guys.. Would love to hear your thoughts on the above! Have you tried any new teas lately, because I would LOVE to hear about it!
xxx
