HAPPY FRIDAYYYYY my loves!!! (And for those in BC, happy LONG WEEKEND!)
Okay, so yes I am still doing a Friday Faves post… it just happens to be tied in with a wonderful GIVEAWAY for you guys, just in time for Valentines dayyyy !
We’ll get to the giveaway in a minute, but first I want to talk to you about tea for a second. WHITE TEA, specifically from Nineteen-02 is what I’m ‘faving’ today.
What’s the difference between white tea and the others you ask? Well… White tea is made from immature tea leaves that are picked shortly before the buds have fully opened. The tea takes its name from the silver fuzz that still covers the buds, which turns white when the tea is dried. Because white tea is the least processed out of all the teas, it has the highest amount of antioxidants in it. Also, White tea can help block fat absorption… so it’s awesome to have pre meals (bonus!) The tea you’ll see paired above with the little mug, is a White tea from Nineteen-02 called White Peony Blueberry.
Okay, on to the GIVEAWAY!!!!
Lets talk about these adorable Libre Tea mugs!!! Libre has several different mugs, and they’re my absolute FAVE!!!
I have the 14oz Libre Travel Mug, and I use it every. single. day! Seriously.
I never leave home without it. So I asked my friends at Libre if they would be open to me doing a review and a giveaway just in time for Valentines Day. They ever so kindly obliged and sent me out one of these adorable little pink Libres, the Garden Dance pink tea mug.
You guys, these mugs are great!
So, you see in the pic above, they come in a cute little box. It’s a really attractive looking package, and it arrived in about 2 days. The mug is double walled which means it helps to keep your drinks hot (or cold) and it won’t sweat on you (or your clothes, your table etc). It also doesn’t get hot or cold to the touch, which is nice when you’re carrying it for a while!
As you can see in the pics, it comes with two lids… one is a strainer that keeps the tea in the mug, and the second is an actual lid that goes on top. So with the tea, you can put it either in the mug in the bottom (pictured left), or on the top of the strainer (pictured right). If you put it on top of the strainer, you just pour the water in, let it steep, and then remove the leaves and put the lid back on. But if you’re like me, on the go all the time, you’re gonna want to put it in the mug like on the left… then you can just put the lid on and drink away.
One of my favourite things about these mugs is that they don’t leak!! You can throw them in your bag or purse and not worry about spillage (just make sure the lid is nice and tight!)
One thing I will tell you though, is once you put the lid on, do NOT flip the mug upside down if it is still steaming (to mix the leaves around). It might explode water on you! haha When there is too much steam it creates pressure and will push water out.
There is a really great ‘how to‘ video though, that talks about different ways to use your mug, and flipping it upside down for a short steep is an option (but the steam needs to be gone before doing this!)
These great little mugs come in two sizes. 9oz (which is what this one is), or 14oz (which is what the other one pictured above is, that I bring with me every day). They also have a true ‘mug’ style that comes in a 10oz size.
I had this one for a little while and I loved how cute it was, but it didn’t fit into my cup holder in the car, so I ended up giving to my hubby ๐
Anyway, back to the pink one! This really is the perfect mug for everyone! And as it mentions on the website, it can be used of course for tea… but also for water infusions (throw some cucumber or fruit in the bottom and enjoy!), or just for plain water. It looks so cute, it’s practical, and it can carry whatever you’d like~!
My ONLY complaint with this little pink mug is it might be too little for some people. For me, it’s great because I have a 14oz already… so I can use that when I need more space… but the little 9oz is perfect when I don’t need as much volume or if I want it to fit nicely in my purse! The great thing is, they do have options!! So whether it’s 9oz, 10oz or 14oz… you’re covered!
So how can you get your hands on one of these babies for free? SO EASY.
Leave me a comment letting me know what your fave tea to drink is right now. If you’re new to the loose leaf tea scene… let me know which tea you’re excited to try when you get your hands on the proper mug!!! That’s it! ๐
And of course, as always, if you’d like extra entries, Tag a friend on Instagram or Facebook that you think might like to win and get an extra entry!
I will draw a winner on Tuesday Feb 9th!
GOOD LUCK!
