This is an amazing recipe from an old colleague of mine, Sarah. She just threw it together one day and now pretty much everyone at VegaHQ drinks it.
The recipe is as follows:
1 packet (or scoop) of Vega Electrolyte Hydrator
1/2 – 1 tbsp Vega Chlorella (note: if you’re a first time user I would recommend 1/4 of a tbsp, as it can be quite cleansing)
Roughly 2 cups of water – depending on flavor preference (I use a 600ml shaker cup)
ICE
*optional 1-2 tsps of lemon juice
Sarah doesn’t use lemon juice when she makes it, however I like to make it more of a ‘lemonade’. Plus for those of you who have been following me for a little while, you know I started every day in the month of August with lemon water (so adding lemon juice to this mixture is yet another delicious form of lemon water)
Chlorella is a fantastic way to cleanse your body and detoxify. It can work wonders after a night of drinking (Yep, I said it!) and seeing as my husband and I just experienced our first Indian Wedding (they’re 3 days long!!!!!!) We went through a LOT of Chlorella this past weekend. It is also loaded with vitamins and minerals, as well as a complete protein. Chlorella can be very energizing, so this is an awesome drink to have instead of caffeine. Lastly, Chlorella can help with immunity as well. If you’ve got a big exam, event, trip etc coming soon, Chlorella can help fight these things off for you. Plus, it tastes amazing in this recipe!
There are many benefits to adding lemon to this lovely little concoction. Check out my earlier post on lemon water to see what those are! ๐
For those of you who are afraid of things that are ‘too green’ – give it a try! I dare you!! My mom even tried it and she really doesn’t like things that are ‘green’. Don’t be scared – your liver will thank you! ๐
If you do brave the ‘green’ and test it out – would love to hear what you think!
