Peep toe wedges (Toms, if you’re obsessed like I am… but that’s a whole other blog post!), cut off shorts, and cute little tanksโฆโฆ. SUMMER IS HERE!!!!!
With that – we need to discuss beverage choices, friends.
If I’m being honest, I wasn’t really a cider fan until recently. That’s the nutritionist coming out in me. Most ciders are loaaaaaaaaded with sugars, and are gonna gear up to give you a pretty sweet (not!) hangover the next day. Not to mention after 1 or 2 I find myself feeling so thirsty and NOT refreshed because many of them are just way too sweet.
ย I know many of you may not be strangers to the gloriousness that is Rock Creekโฆ and good on ya for that. But for those that haven’t yet tried Big Rock’s Rock Creek Apple Cider – you must! As an aside, there is also now a Pear option in 6 pack cans, as well as a Variety Pack option (2 apple, 2 pear and 2 black currant!)
ย Anyway, I wanted to give you a few reasons why you should be drinking Rock Creek this summer (if you aren’t already!)
ย Delicious Okanagan grown fruit — It’s always nice to have something come from right in your own backyard. The ciders (all 3 flavours) are super fresh and crisp tasting. You can tell it isn’t chalked full of a bunch of artificial, crappy ingredients. This is the real deal, grown right here!
ย GLUTEN FREE –— I know this isn’t important to everyone, but there are certainly a number of people that this definitely matters. Spread the word to your non gluten eatin friends! Rock creek is safe for them to drink anddddddddddddd also super tasty (bonus!)
Only 3 grams of sugar!!!! Guys — this is HUGE!!! Maybe this is the nutritionist in me coming out again, but certain competitor ciders have upwards of 20+ grams of sugar per serving. That said, when I found out about the amount of sugar in Rock creek, I thought –ย this is pretty effin awesome! What a selling feature for those people that are trying to watch their sugar intake, or, for those of you that simply don’t want to feel like absolute BALLS the next morning because of all the sugar in the bevies you were drinking all day on the beach.
As I mentioned above, the cider comes in Apple, which is the original flavour and the one that most of you might be familiar with. New this year, it also comes in a Pear flavour. This has been HUGE so far this year. It’s absolutely still a dry cider, which makes it different than most of its much sweeter counterparts – but it has such a fresh, crisp flavour – dangerous because it’s WAY too easy to drink, and does offer 5.8% alcohol per 355ml can.
I shared a few of Big Rock’s new summer products with a friend of mine yesterday that lives upstairs to us, and I had to quote his review. “As soon as I saw pear, I had to try that one first. It was SO good. I usually don’t drink cider, but I could drink that $h*tย all day long!”
Lastly, if you’re someone that prefers some variety – there’s an option for that too! The Mix Pack cider comes with 2 apple, 2 pear and 2 black currant. This is definitely a party pleaser, as there’s something in there for everyone ๐
Hopefully I’ve given you enough reason to head on out and get yourself some Rock Creek to try. Any trouble finding it, let me know ๐ I can point ya in the right direction.
