Hey guys!

So this post is a LOT overdue- but I definitely wanted to do a little mini recap of our most recent trip to Seattle!

I wanted to wait until the refresh of the blog was done before posting!

I wasn’t super keen to go anywhere… I was happy to have a nice little weekend in with the pups, kitties and Greg. But he found this RIDICULOUSLY adorable AirBnB and sucked me right in!!!  More on that in a sec.

Oregon RECAP

Oh my gosh… it’s like I am not even sure where to start with this! Greg and I have been doing trips together for the last few years in lieu of Christmas Gifts, and this year we decided to go just the two of us (with the pups of course) to Oregon. What a trip!!

Friday Faves — Natural hair product, good read & new brew!

Coming to you from Kailua, Hawaii! And wonderful, amazing weather so far!

I have a few things to share, as per usual for Friday Faves. And I’m going to get right to it because quite honestly there’s so much we have to explore here and we really haven’t done much yet as the first day was spent scoping things out, getting groceries and all the things we need for the rest of the vacay 🙂

The first thing I want to share is this Argan Magic Dry Oil Mist that I picked up from Winners. OMG. LOVE. It’s all natural, and cruelty free which is super important to me, and I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in my hair since I’ve started using it. It doesn’t make my hair greasy. I am careful to not put too much in at a time, but it really does make it silky smooth and shiny, and protects it from the curling iron and straightener.

Mulled everything, and a tasty GIVEAWAY!!!

I was going to include this ‘fave’ in my post yesterday, but I sort of felt like it deserved it’s own post. Especially because it’s PARTICULARLY delicious over the holidays (and yes this is a shameless plug for the company I work for!) – you’ve gotta check out Rock Creek Cider. This cider comes in Apple, Pear, and depending where you’re located, you might be able to find the variety pack that has 2 apple, 2 pear and 2 black currant. It’s such a nice option if you’re not a beer/wine fan, or if you just want something tasty. It’s also made using all Okanagan Fruit, it’s GLUTEN FREE (bam!), and it’s also only got ~3 grams of sugar per bottle/can. 3 grams!!!! That’s so low you guys. So many of our competitors have 10 grams + per can/bottle! For a little more info on our cider, check out my post from earlier in the year here.

Also… for those of you that are really in the holiday spirit and want something delicious for your Christmas/New Years parties… try this ridiculously good mulled cider. Just incase you were confused like me… ‘scrumpy’ is alcoholic cider.

We made this last night with Rock Creek and it worked perfectly.

As a side note, we also made some mulled wine… because, well, mulled anything is my fave and really gets me into the spirit of the holidays 🙂 Plus, my good friend Morgan Shupe was over, and she’s a chef… so anytime she wants to spend ANY time in the kitchen with me, I’d be a chump to say no!!

I’m not too sure which was my favourite to be honest… they were both super tasty! The one thing I will say with mulled products is you’ve gotta be careful because of the added sugar.  Can make for a mean hangover if you’re not careful! Like I mentioned above, our cider is extremely low in sugar, but there’s definitely a decent amount added to ‘mull’ it! Be sure to have lots of water throughout the night or you’ll regret it in the AM!

Oh and of course I had to include a couple outfit pics… because last night was the first night I really started to get decked out for the holidays!! (Wait til you see what I have coming next week for a pub crawl!!)

I literally bought the sweater YESTERDAY from H&M, but they don’t seem to have it on their site… it IS in stores though for $24.99. But I found another one online, here,  that’s also super awesome (I actually have it in the green colour). The tights were a gift from last year from the ‘Sweet Legs’ company, and they are the softest thing EVER! I couldn’t find the exact pair, but I found a pretty wicked Christmas pair here.  If you like the reindeer ones though (and I don’t blame you, because they’re bad ass) I found a pair on Shopbop, and another pair on Amazon (2 day shipping, whaaat!?). ALSO – here’s a pair from Etsy that I found from a great little shop I’ve purchased ponchos from already.

The pups are even ready for the holiday season with their festive Bow Tie (Pedro) and Flower (Oaklee) collars, handmade from Etsy! 🙂

Anyway… back to the cider. Since I’m talkin it up so much and making it sound so delicious on it’s own AND mulled – I figured I should give some away!

In light of the holiday season, instead of a 6 pack, I’m giving away a full flat (ie: 24) ciders! You can pic which flavour you’d like!)

OH my GOODNESS! Today is honestly like Christmas Mornnningggggg!!!!  After 4+ months of going back and forth with our amazing web designer HILARY,  we have a completely rebranded blog!!! I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way it turned out and I hope you’ll stay and have a look around 🙂

Before going any further – I just want to give a huge shout out to Hilary of course, for doing a stellar job on our page, and for taking my 185372 emails, texts and facebook messages, and making them into something beautiful!!! … We think it’s beautiful, if you’re not a fan,  then you can beat it! 😉

Secondly, my girl Glenny did such an amazing job, not only making us look way better than we actually do… but getting the pups to co operate for some pics as well! You’ll definitely be seeing many of the photos she took throughout, but the ones you see already on the blog (on the home and about pages) are her doing!

Okay… so. Why the rebrand?

Well… was a great start for us. We were just kind of testing things out, just at the beginning of our bootcamps and training, and it was a perfect starting point. We were able to talk about workouts and rescue dogs, which was really all we were hoping to focus on anyway, when we started! As time went on, I found myself wanting to post about other things (more lifestyle focused).  Also,  in the last two years Greg has developed a HUGE passion for craft beer, and homebrewing… so we wanted to find a spot for that too!

ANYWAY – the thought process was, lets change it from being a solely fitness focused blog (although that will still be a huge part of what we post!) and make it more of a lifestyle blog.

This way, Greg will be doing some BEER LOVE posts for the craft drinkin crowd, I can do some posts on clothes (which will help justify my shopping addiction… ha, Sorry babe!), and we can still post about everything in between – like our animals, tea, trips we take etc.

So what does this mean for you?… By visiting this page on a regular basis, you’re going to be able to find:

Workout posts
From what we do in our bootcamp classes each week, to different programs Greg and I are loving (and hating!)

Greg and I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, all rescue animals. We will share tons of ways to get involved, animals that need homes, and sometimes you might just get a smattering of photos of our pets — for that, we apologize in advance.

Pretty self explanatory, yes? I am really working to expand this section as cooking and trying new recipes something I love doing, but definitely not the best at remembering to take pics and write about it (I like the eating portion too much!)

Anyone that knows me, or really anyone that has spent more than 7 seconds on my Instagram knows that I am a TEA LOVER. I’ve been fortunate enough to work closely with a couple great companies (that you’ll hear all about) and I love to share new finds and flavours as well. Don’t forget about Kombucha! You’ll hear lots about this miracle bevie too!

This is one of the new sections, and really can be about whatever I feel like sharing with you. The main categories would be different challenges we’ve done (workout, cleanses, clean eating etc), Style (again, to feed my shopping addiction and share it with you!), BEERLOVE (Greggie’s section), and of course there’s a section for Under Armour love. The ‘life’ tab will be pretty random and always changing.

This (ironically) is one of my favourite sections. I am an avid blog reader, and in my opnion one of the best parts is their ‘faves’ section – whether it be other blogs they love, books, style, or something I’m super in to is the ‘Things I’m loving lately’ posts. Totally random things that don’t necessarily go together at all, but just things that person is excited about that week. Super Rad.

(yes my niece and her adorable outfit and FACE is allowed to be one of the things I’m loving lately!!! It’s my blog – I can do what I want!!)

This post is SO much longer than I intended and I apologize for that… but thanks so much for reading, and be sure to check back soon as there are going to be some giveaways coming up over the next couple weeks!

What do you think about the new blog?
